Broward County Builds Hotel using $140M In Covid Funds!

Officials view it as an investment in the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center

Broward County commissioners approved $140 million in federal relief funding for a proposed 29-story luxury hotel. Officials consider it as a contribution to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center, despite the fact that it has nothing to do with public health. According to Liz Bourgeois, a Treasury Department spokesperson, the funds are meant to help local governments to “recover from financial distress” and “achieve their own strategies for restoring jobs.”
